Question asked by Pete Watters - September 19, 2016 at 3:19 PM
Answered
I created a Reverse zone

When I create an A record for the forward zone and check the update Reverse zone box I get the error Can not update reverse zone

please setup the reverse zone first

the record name (host is media-server-w8.9661-andora.com the IP address is 172.16.145.1

the reverse zone is 172.16.in-addr.arpa this is in the left window top

Left window bottom is IP Subnet: 16.172.0.0 /255.255.0.0

These two seem to contradict...
Could you send us a screen shot?

Class B address 172.16

I got it to work - when I created the reverse zone I entered it backward 16.172 not 172.16

How can I lookup an IP address and see what FQDN it is assigned to like alisis, CNAME and A records
