a little guidance on MX and PTR

I created a Reverse Zone and then edited the MX record and checked the box update reverse ptr record and the record is then created under the reverse zone.
I checked my server ptr using tools ptr and it says it does not exist? What am I missing?

It might be that reverse DNS for your IP address(es) has not been delegated to your DNS servers - so that the "not exist" response you see it actually coming from another DNS server - like your ISP's.
If in doubt, try entering your IP address at http://www.simpledns.com/lookup-dg.aspx and see what DNS servers are listed for your reverse zone.
