Wildcard for ipv6 reverse configuration
Question asked by heimo paila - June 30, 2015 at 12:24 AM
Answered
Is it possible to configure ipv6  PTR's in such way that they  would always return the same answer for all the ipv6 addresses in the range, and if possible return specific names for specific ip's? Having to manually set a ptr for every ip address in a large network is not ideal.

Thanks.

Yes, you can setup wildcard records this this, just like anything else.

PTR:  *.4.3.2.1.a.b.c.e.f.ip6.arpa  -> yourname.example.com
